About Tilly's Letters
Tilly’s Letters is a monthly letter subscription for children aged 2 to 6.
Each month, your child receives a personalised envelope through the post, filled with a gentle letter from Tilly, hand-illustrated artwork, a screen-free activity, a recipe, and stickers or a small keepsake surprise.
It is designed to feel like a small family ritual. Something to open together, return to slowly, and remember.
Tilly lives on the edge of Primrose Wood, in a cottage with a yellow door and a letterbox she checks every morning.
She is the one who writes, gathering news from the wood, tucking in a recipe she found folded in Binks' apron pocket, noting down what Penny and Pickles got up to last Thursday. Each month, she sits at her kitchen table and writes to your child. Just to them. By name.
She is not a person exactly, but she is not quite a character either. She is the feeling of the letterbox. The pause before opening. The sense that something small and good has arrived.
Children do not tend to ask whether she is real. They just wait for her letters.
Yes. Everything inside Tilly’s Letters is designed to be enjoyed away from screens.
There are no apps, QR codes or digital extras required. Just paper, hands, imagination and time together.
Tilly’s Letters is not a formal learning programme, but it gently supports many of the things children naturally learn through play.
The letters encourage imagination, language, listening, noticing, creativity, fine motor skills, shared attention and confidence. Children learn through stories, conversation, making, baking and exploring, without it feeling like homework.

Inside a Little Wanderers letter, you’ll find:

Everything is designed to be opened together, used slowly across the month, and kept afterwards if you wish.
Tilly’s Letters are sent once a month.
Each month brings a new letter, illustration, recipe, activity and small surprise, following the rhythm of the seasons and the adventures of Tilly’s world.
Yes. Tilly’s Letters are sent in a slim envelope designed to fit through standard letterboxes.
No big parcel, no waiting in for delivery. Just a little piece of post ready to be discovered.
No. The activities are designed to be simple, flexible and easy to enjoy with things you are likely to already have at home.
For recipes, you may need basic everyday ingredients. For activities, you may occasionally use things like crayons, paper, scissors, glue or household objects, but nothing specialist is required.
Ages and how children use it
Little Wanderers is designed for children aged 2 to 6.
Younger children may enjoy listening, pointing, peeling stickers and opening the envelope with a grown-up. Older children may begin to follow the story world, help with recipes, use the activity cards more independently and return to the letters across the month.
There is no right way to use a Tilly’s Letter. Some families open everything at once. Others come back to the cards slowly.
For 2 and 3-year-olds, Tilly’s Letters are best enjoyed with a grown-up.
They might listen to the letter, spot details in the illustration, peel stickers, name what they can see, help with simple making, or join in with parts of the recipe.
At this age, it is less about completing everything and more about the moment you share together.
Children aged 4 and 5 may begin to follow the characters and story world more closely.
They might talk about what is happening in the illustration, help with the recipe, use the activity card as a starting point for play, make choices, ask questions and imagine what might happen next.
The letter becomes something they can return to across the month.
Many children who are nearly 7 still enjoy Tilly’s Letters, especially if they like stories, drawing, making, baking and gentle imaginative play.
The letters are designed for ages 2 to 6, so a child who prefers longer independent reading or more complex activities may be ready for something a little older. But for children who still love illustrated worlds, small rituals and creative prompts, it can still feel very special.
Subscription and billing
Yes. Tilly’s Letters is available as a monthly subscription, so your child receives a new letter each month.
You can choose a rolling monthly subscription, or select a prepaid bundle if you would prefer to pay once for a set number of months.
The monthly rolling option is billed each month and continues until you pause or cancel.
Prepaid bundles are paid for upfront and last for a set number of months, such as 3, 6 or 12 months. They are a lovely option for gifts, or for families who know they would like letters for a little longer.
If you choose the monthly rolling subscription, you’ll be charged when you subscribe and then monthly on your renewal date.
If you choose a prepaid bundle, you’ll pay once upfront for the number of months selected.
Yes. You can pause, skip or cancel your subscription through your account whenever you need to.
There are no penalties and no awkward goodbyes. You can manage it in your own time, and come back whenever you are ready.
Yes. You can update your delivery address through your account before your next letter is prepared.

Gifting
Yes. Tilly’s Letters makes a lovely gift for birthdays, Christmas, grandchildren, godchildren, nieces, nephews, or a child you do not get to see as often as you would like.
You can choose a monthly gift, or prepay for 3, 6 or 12 months of letters. Each envelope is personalised with the child’s name and sent directly through the post.
To send Tilly’s Letters as a gift, you’ll need:
- The child’s name
- Their birthday month
- The delivery address
- Your gift message, if you would like to include one
We ask for the birthday month so we can make their birthday letter feel a little more special when it comes around.
Yes. You can add a gift message when placing your order.
This lets the child and their family know who the letters are from, making the first envelope feel even more personal.
Yes. You can choose from monthly, 3-month, 6-month or 12-month gift options.
A 3-month gift is a lovely introduction, 6 months gives them a longer story to follow, and 12 months creates a whole year of letterbox magic.
Yes. Every Tilly’s Letter is personalised with the child’s name on the envelope.
Seeing their own name on a piece of post is one of the loveliest parts of the experience.
Delivery
Tilly’s Letters are posted during the first week of each month.
To receive that month’s letter, please order by the 7th of the month. Orders placed from the 8th onwards will receive the following month’s letter as their first post.
For example, if you order by 7th July, your child will receive July’s letter. If you order from 8th July, their first letter will be sent with August’s post.
If you subscribe by the 7th of the month, your child will receive that month’s letter.
If you subscribe from the 8th onwards, your first letter will be sent with the following month’s mailing.
Letters are posted during the first week of each month, then arrive through the post shortly after.
We deliver within the UK and internationally.
UK postage is free. International delivery options and costs are shown at checkout before you complete your order.
Tilly’s Letters are sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class post.
Post can occasionally take a little longer than usual, especially around busy periods. Royal Mail’s 2nd Class delivery patterns may also vary by area, with some deliveries taking place every couple of days, so please allow a little extra time for your letter to arrive.
